Old Indian chest - Wood - Rajasthan, India - 19th century

Wedding chest in wood, with metal hinges, and brass edges, with a light brown patina.
Traditionally offered at wedding ceremonies.
The bride kept her jewellery and personal belongings in it.
A door is placed in the middle of one of the sloping sides.
A decoration of rosettes adorns the lid and sides of the box.

30 x 42 x 30 cm.

Chest has some signs of time, but patina is beautiful.
Brass strip has some dents on front and is bit loose. And woodwork has some damage.
