Anton Dirckx's oeuvre largely consists of impressionist landscapes, cityscapes and harbour views, in oil and watercolour.

After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam, the artist took a study trip to Italy, where he found inspiration for several paintings.

Anton Dirckx worked extensively with Adriaan de la Rivière.

He was a member of 'Arti et Amicitiae' in Amsterdam.
