This is a special version released by the British Museum in 1978 va so-called Lewis Chessmen:
The Lewis chess pieces named after the island or bay where they were found, are a group of distinctive chess pieces from the 12th century, along with other playing pieces, most of which are carved from walrus ivory. Discovered in 1831 on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
the originals are on display at the British Museum.

this set is handmade from Constituted Stone. so it is close to the real thing in terms of look and feel.

Is still in original box and accompanied by original booklet from the museum with description and photos of the original chess pieces.
